Who We Are

EA alliance of nonprofits is a membership association founded in 2000 by nonprofit leaders united in the vision of a community that values nonprofits. Evolved from the long standing Executive Director's Coalition (EDC), EA alliance of nonprofits launched with a pledge of membership from thirty nonprofits. From this small sample of leading nonprofits, EA alliance of nonprofits has grown and evolved to include more than 200 member organizations

Originally, the membership was composed of nonprofits from the human services, health, and housing areas of the sector. Today EA alliance of nonprofits represents a wide spectrum of nonprofits including the arts, civic organizations, and education. To continue to advance the interests of the sector, we have partnered with like minded for-profit organizations and public agencies to strengthen the nonprofit sector.

In 2004 EA alliance of nonprofits began operating many of the programs previously offered by The Evergreen State Society. Thus, the legacy of TESS could continue through EA alliance of nonprofits' commitment and dedication to it's cause. In addition, EA alliance of nonprofit is active with the National Council of Nonprofit Associations (NCNA) and Independent Sector (IS).

EA alliance of nonprofits has grown from its original 30 to well over 300 members and includes many of the most respected and influential organizations and leaders in the community. Organizational representation continues to be tied to the leadership of the organization. While located in the Puget Sound region, our members’ scopes of service include local, state, national, and international.
