Join the 3rd Annual Nonprofit Day in Olympia
The 2012 Legislative Session is an unsettling year for State budget cuts. Support for numerous intiatives, programs and services that impact nonprofits and their constituencies will gravely be impacted. With less to go around, nonprofits will be expected to do more with less. These new developments require nonprofits around Washington State to advocate with a collective voice and extend greater effort to know and partner with State Legislators. The 3rd Annual Nonprofit Day in Olympia on February 10th will be the opportunity to do so.
The 3rd Annual Nonprofit Day in Olympia will be your opportunity to:
- Build on the previous years of connecting with elected officials that make key decisions on policy that impact the missions and resources of nonprofits.
- Ensure that the collective voice of the Nonprofit Sector is heard and interests protected;
- Show solidarity with other nonprofits throughout the State as a united force in protecting and enhancing the quality of life for all Washingtonians.
- Be an important resource and partner for elective officials to refer to for expertise and facts on the needs of NPOs and sub-sectors around the State.
- Tell the stories of nonprofits and their constituents;
- Share in a very impactful experience that will lend to promoting your organization through the collective voice of the sector.
Your presence will make a difference! Register today and join this state-wide effort to share, listen and encourage elective officials to partner, support and help further the invaluable work of NPOs of Washington State.
February 10th is designed just for you:
- Nonprofit leaders will receive a brief training on advocacy techniques and sector-wide issues
- Nonprofit leaders will present in advocacy groups with 2-3 other leaders
- All advocacy groups will be equipped with a presentation packet
- The morning of the event, Alliance FOR Nonprofits WA will hold a kick-off breakfast and in the afternoon, a special luncheon will be served with legislators and staff.
