The Alliance FOR Nonprofits Washington focuses it's energies on three main areas in order to achieve our vision of a powerful nonprofit sector that delivers its full benefit to the community. These three areas are:

Leadership Development

We believe a strong nonprofit sector comes as a result of strong leaders. By helping our leaders learn, develop, and effectively implement proven practices, each organization can better achieve its mission. Voice and Position

Ensuring that our sector can raise its voice and be heard is key to our mission. By actively promoting a positive image of our sector and our member organizations, we change perceptions and ideas about the role of nonprofits in our community. We strengthen awareness of the sector relative to community events and issues, planning and decision-making that affects the community, and issues internal to the nonprofit sector. Learn more here.

Public Policy

We advocate for the nonprofit sector in government actions. By focusing on policies most relevant to our sector, we are able to promote interests and practices most beneficial for nonprofits. In addition, We alert member organizations about pending legislation in order to increase awareness and strengthen the voice of nonprofits in the policy arena. Learn more here.
